Year 8
- started to shift focus towards running
- trying full body split for the first time
reach 12% bf
Year 7
- started to shift focus towards jiu-jitsu, looking for something more interesting than lifting the same stuff all the time
- stabilized around 170lb (roughly the same weight as when I started lifting but with vastly different body composition)
Year 6
- trained with a coach briefly for 6-8 months
- continued to hit PPL 5-7x a week
- zero PRs, purely sustained as a habit
- did kelei’s routine for a bit, was quite fun
Year 5
- trained at gyms in singapore, taiwan, tokyo, san diego, and more
- continued to track every calorie that entered my mouth for the next year
- became known as the guy who brings around a scale and tracks everything
- ate chicken rice every day while I lived in singapore for 3 months
Year 4
- start to not be able to fit in regular shirts and pants without alterations
- started to be known as the guy who hits the gym a lot
- start cutting and tracking macros
- always hit the gym no matter what, even when travelling
- proof of work
Year 3
- started crazy bulk, ate as much as possible
- had unlimited swipes at dining hall
- continued to lift for 2 hours per day, sometimes 4 hours if I had nothing to do
- listened to JRE experience for every session (highly inspiring circa 2017)
- did nsuns 5/3/1 for 6 months
- realized I need to start cutting
- watched gym vlogs every day - bradley martyn, jeff nippard
Year 2
- went to college, met many friends who started lifting
- went every day to the gym with other freshmen, guided by sophomores
- continued to go every day, friends slowly dropped out
- started lifting 2 hours per day, never missed a single day and tracked every workout
Year 1
- graduated HS, had 6 months before college
- started lifting at local fitness center
- did stronglifts 5x5, used the app
Year 0 (~2015)
- started lifting at small gym
- used squat rack in opposite direction
- random trainer helped me
- never went back there again
